Story
In January, 2008 James was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an extremely rare form of primary bone cancer. Prior to the diagnosis James had suffered with his right shin for seven months or more, being told he was suffering from internal eczema to growing pains!!
Throughout his intensive and gruelling treatment, which lasted a little over ten months, James remained upbeat and courageous at all times even after having his leg amputated above the knee he competed in his school sports day a mere five days later with his trademark smile and inspirational manner.
Despite his pain and treatment he would go out of his way to comfort and calm the fears of other newly diagnosed patients with a compassion and understanding far beyond his tender years.
Sadly James lost his battle in April, 2009 but his legacy lives on and continues to inspire those who knew or heard his story.
