Story

Hi Everyone,

Mountain Rescue do a great job; all MR services are provided free; supported by donations and fundraising.

The Challenge 107 miles 30000ft ascent in 9 days with a full backpack.

Day 1: Orrest Head to Red Tarn, Hellvellyn 19 miles 5865ft ascent

Day 2  Red Tarn, Hevellyn to Keswick 16 miles ish 3250ft ascent ish

Day3/4 Keswick to Buttermere via Newlands Horsehoe (one of my favourites) then half Coledale Horsehoe  23miles    7800ft ascent

Day 5/6 Buttermere to Wasdale Head (Ennerdale Horeshoe) this will be a real challenge both physically and mentally (I have only managed some of these peaks as single day climbs) 18 miles 7930ft ascent

Day 7/8 Scarfell Pike,  Great End, Bow Fell etc to Old Dungeon Gyhll (Langdale)  14 miles 6000ft  ascent

Day 9 Langdale to Patterdale via  Langdale Pikes, Helm Crag....18 miles 4500ft ascent

I climbed Blencartha in May 2014 (for a 3rd time) to see the sunset and walk down at night under a starlit sky so I omitted it this time.

I have climbed Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scarfell Pike, West Highland Way (7yrs), Cumbria Way (8yrs), Coast to Coast (9yrs), Dales Way (10 yrs), Pennine way 2012 and  completed  all 214 Wainwrights finishing them in 2011. This to me is the final piece of the Wainwright jigsaw but I will carry on walking discovering new routes and challenges all the time.

Thanks everyone who supported me last time but MRT really do need you to support them. Just look at all their rescues and hard work in August alone, some days Wasdale MRT were out 4 times.
