My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I have dusted off my trainers once again and on relatively short notice will be doing this years London Marathon. My decision to hit the pavements is to raise money for a great charity and therefore please help me hit my target, it will certainly make the miles seem less painful!

I am raising money for a charity called ARC (Antenatal Results & Choices). ARC provides support and information for parents before, during and after pre-natal testing.  They also offer specialised unlimited support for as long as it is needed when parents receive a worrying screening result or when a fetal abnormality is diagnosed in an unborn baby.

About 750000 women in the UK become pregnant each year and all of them are offered a screening test such as an ultrasound scan, and/or a serum (blood) test. More than 35000 women will be told that their scan has revealed an "adverse" result and that their unborn baby has a serious fetal abnormality. Such results cause a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty for the parents, ARC works closely with health care professionals to help them provide the best possible care to the baby and the parents in these sensitive circumstances.

ARC are the ONLY national charity that provide support to expectant or bereaved parents throughout the antenatal screening and testing process.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you everyone, Jamie
