Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

I have set myself the unenviable task of completing the 2 Three Peaks Challenges this year along with my fellow 3 peakers

These being the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge first on the 4 May 2013 followed by the National 3 Peaks Challenge on 1 June 2013.

So firstly the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, this is a 26 mile hike (yes that’s the same distance a marathon) which must be completed within 12 hours and takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) in one circular route.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we will then take on The National 3 Peaks Challenge which is scaling the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis – 1344m), England (Scafell Pike – 978m) and Wales (Snowdon – 1085m) within a time limit of 24 hours including travel between mountains.

The other participants will be:-

Joanna Mercer

Byron Mothershaw

Kevan Lambe

Tim Worthington

Steve Jones

Russell Patterson

Jamie Holland

We are aiming to raise funds and awareness for Marie Curie Cancer Care a fantastic charity close to the hearts of many and one which provides support to people fighting against cancer. It is particularly close to Kev as they provided him and his Mum with much needed support during her treatment last year, prior to finally being given the all clear at Christmas.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks from all the three peakers!!!!!!
