<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">On 11 March I will be running the Bath Half Marathon with some colleagues from where I work at Exeter University. I will be raising money for an amazing charity based in and around Weston-super-Mare called ‘Springboard Opportunity Group’, which helps children with additional needs from birth to 5 years and their families, in North Somerset.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">I have a link to the charity as they helped my nieces Evie and Martha when they were born prematurely at 26 weeks; they are now 5 years old and attend a primary school in Somerset.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Springboard run specialist play sessions where each child has a Key Person responsible for them, this Key Person will work with parents and specialists such as physiotherapists and speech therapists to develop individual plans to help the children learn and develop. Springboard also offers support as children near school age.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Springboard has received ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted reports, I have been to their centre in Weston which was built in 2006 and it was impressive to see a really modern building with some amazing interactive play facilities. They receive some funding but primarily they rely on support from donations…</span></p>
