We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

This is a joint page for donations between all three of us in our team.

All three of us; Sapper Jamie,Sapper Chris Underhill and Sapper Adam Bannister are competing in the London marathon 2010 to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund.

All three of us are in the Royal Engineers currently based at 1RSME in Chatham.

We are going to complete the marathon carrying bergens weighing 20kg also wearing boots. We will 'TAB' (speedmarch) the full 26.2 miles trying to complete it within 6 and a half hours. We are carrying 20kg as this is the minimum weight a soldier has to carry in order to pass the annual 8 mile Combat Fitness Test (CFT).

We need to raise £6,000 between us, all the money will go straight to the Army benevolent fund which helps out soldiers and their families in times of need. The charity will help with anything from getting injured soldiers the right treatment and care they need to sending a war widow and her young children on a much needed holiday. www.armybenfund.org
