Derbyshire Building Society 10k · 1 April 2012

The Fibrous Dysplasia Support Society (FDSS) was formed in 2007 by a group of patients, and their carers, who are affected by Fibrous Dysplasia, McCune Albright Syndrome (MAS) or Cherubism. It exists to provide information and support by sharing our knowledge and experience of the condition.

Story

Update ....... we all completed the 10k on a sunny Sunday morning finishing inside Pride Park. I have a few pictures that I have put on! I managed to drag myself around in a time of 55mins and 9sec which I was very pleased with. I want to thank everybody for their support and generosity and once final amounts are collected we hope to break that £1000 barrier.

So here it is at last!

For those of you that know me and my second daughter Charlotte (pictured) you will know everything that she has been through ...... but for those of you that don't she was born with a rare genetic condition called McCune Albright Syndrome with Fibrous Dysplasia being one of the major elements that affects all her bones.

We had to find most information out in the early days from America and so we were very pleased when a group of affected people set up the FDSS (Fibrous Dysplasia Support Society) in the UK. Their aim is to provide information and support by sharing knowledge and experience of the condition with those who would like to know more. You can see their website at www.fdssuk.org.uk

My run is to raise money for them to help in their aim to achive full charitable status so they can stay around for years to come.

I understand funds are limited in the current economic climate but any sponsorship or donations are greatly appreciated whatever their size! Any donations made through justgiving will see the tax credits claimed by them and also paid to the charity if you are a tax payer
