My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 22 April 2012, I will take part in the Virgin London Marathon.
Together with 5 other runners, I am using this as an opportunity to raise funds for a great charity, the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF).
The LGF works and campaigns for a fair and equal society and to eradicate homphobia.
There has been much positive change in society in the last two decades but much remains to be done. A tragic reminder of this is the recent and tragic death of Peter Crouch, a 15 year old teenager, who committed suicide after allegedly being subject to homophobic bullying. Sadly, reports and research indicate that homophobic bullying remains a real issue in schools around the country.
One of the core activities of the LGF is its involvement in an innovative and successful multi-media, anti-homophobic bullying projects in schools.
