Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been a volunteer marine mammal medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue since 2008, when I attended a training course in Cornwall.  Since then I've got more involved with them, especially as a powerboat instructor and helping to keep one of their rescue boats fully operational and with training up new volunteers.

The charity is incredibly operational, with very few staff but over 2,500 volunteers around the country, ready to help marine mammals such as whales, dolphins, porpoises and seals, as well as occasionally seabirds and turtles.  BDMLR carries out between 400 and 500 rescues a year and receives no funding from the government, depending upon the goodwill of its supporters and donors to carry on its great work.

So, I've decided to move out of my comfort zone and run the Brighton Marathon in April to raise funds for them.  Training hasn't been easy but I'm getting there and lookling forward to the event - please jhelp spur me on by sponsoring me as it will mean so much to the charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Many thanks.
