Story
The first Bupa Great North 10k – Sunderland took place on July 12, 2009 and attracted over 4,500 runners along with a host of world-class stars. This year it takes place on Sunday 18th July, and judging by the weather so far should be a hot one, but let’s try and make it even hotter, if you all help me reach my fundraising target of £100.00 I'll run wearing the Shared Interest chilli outfit! Fair Trade labelled chilli’s are not yet out in the shops, although we do already work with producers who operate within the world fair trade standards (learn more).
Shared Interest Foundation provides training and education for fair trade producer groups, especially in business and financial management - programmes to improve the performance of producers' businesses thereby securing jobs and incomes for thousands of people. The Foundation work with it's sister organisation Shared Interest Society, a leading fair trade lender, to help producer communities to access the finance they can afford.
With your support, the Foundation can harness it's position at the heart of the fair trade movement to reach more producer organisations - and through them the communities they serve. Learn more
