Horse Race at Towcester Racecourse · 5 November 2009

Its prime purpose is to provide appropriate help, medical, financial and otherwise, to current and retired jockeys who are injured, unable to ride or in need.

Story

Well, I DID it! I achieved my lifelong dream of being a jockey when riding in a race at Towcester on Thursday November 5th, finishing a creditable  third on my lovely partner, Itsy Bitsy.

For me it was the most thrilling of days and I enjoyed it so much that I'm already looking around for more race-riding opportunities.  I could not have done this without the help of so many others, and I want to say a sincere "thank you" to all those who so generously sponsored me - as well as for that all-important moral support.

As you can see, I am nearing my online target of £1,000 for the Injured Jockeys' Fund and Racing Welfare - and the good news is that this page will stay open until the end of the year for those who missed it and would like to make a small donation to help me to that total.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
