Thanks for taking the time to visit Jane's JustGiving page.
In 2007 Jane took part in a three month artist in residency in Mino, Japan. Whilst there the country and culture created a lasting impression and her work continues to be inspired by the Japanese aesthetic. Last summer she folded 1000 origami cranes, which were displayed as part of a regeneration project In Derby City Centre.
Jane has already raised over £750.00 by selling her original 1,000 origami cranes for donations from £1. A Japanese tradition promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will have a wish granted, origami cranes are seen as signs of hope and prosperity.
Jane's wish is that she will raise enough money to reach the £1000.00 mark. All donations are really appreciated.
Jane also has made a pair of origami cranes signed by Rob Ryan, London based paper cut artist, and made with Rob Ryan designed paper, licensed by Wild and Wolf. One of the cranes is being auctioned in sealed bid auction - the highest bidder by email to janeclowes202@hotmail.com will be announced on May 31st - the matching crane will live happily in Rob's studio
