Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

I'm running the Bath half marathon to raise money for the Association of Glycogen Storage Disease (AGSD-UK).

Glycogen is a stored form of glucose, which is used as a fuel for energy. Glycogen Storage Disease occurs when there is an absence or deficiency of an enzyme needed to produce or break down glycogen.

My wonderful nephew Josh, was born with Pompe disease, which  is a form of glycogen storage disease that causes muscle weakness and affects mobility.

The AGSD-UK provides support and help for individuals and families affected by Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) and contributes to the advancement of treatments and cures.
