Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My original plan had been to take part in the Great North Swim in June - Unfortunately though this didn't quite go according to plan, well actually it didn't go to plan at all, it's a long story that involves a wetsuit, incredibly buoyant lower extremities and a sore back (not one of my finest moments). I will, however, be doing a ten mile walk on September 4th and I hope that all of you who have sponsored me will be happy for your sponsorship to go on this task instead.
My chosen charity is the Rosie May Memorial Fund (RMMF). This charity was set up in 2003 following the tragic death of Rosie May Storrie. Her parents Graham and Mary have worked hard (along with their sons and friends) to ensure that Rosie May's name lives on. Her legacy is the Rosie May Home in Sri Lanka, a unique concept which offers a place of safety for girls displaced by the Tsunami in 2004. The home aims to create a loving family environment where sisters are reunited and live together again.
Early next year I aim to spend some time as a volunteer - working both at the home and the Boossa school (where the girls and other local children are educated), the money I raise will help towards my travelling costs as well as raising much needed funds for the charity.
Please dig deep and support me - I know cash is always a bit strapped but any amount (no matter how small, no matter how large) will help me achieve my target and if you give I'll love you forever.
Thank you so much your support, friendship and money - it's hugely appreciated.
