Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The big day is drawing near and the thought of ballroom dancing in front of four hundred people is very scary. The dance competition is just one night however, these children face a much more daunting life on a daily basis.

My inspiration to take part derives from the memory of my nan, who's face i will never forget when i told her at the age of twelve that i did not want to dance anymore, and my son who will soon return from a tour of duty from Afghanistan whom will be with me on the night. Bill was told by his daughter that she had "volunteered" him for a "dance thingy", and being a typical Father he didn't want to let her down.

All Twelve couples are giving up time and putting in a lot of effort as practice is very hard however, Judith our esteemed dance tutor, because of her enthusiasm, energy and dedication makes us all believe that we will all shine on the night. At first we were not convinced as Bill and myself have trodden on many toes, bumped and knocked knees with each other however, finally we feel a dance couple is starting to emerge "Not so Strictly here we come".

Both Bill and myself feel that we are all winners as each and everyone of our dance steps will help these children take their first steps into a positive way of life. Safe@Last is a very worthy charity and your donations will help them move forward safely.
