<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I'm sure your heart has gone out to someone whether it was a family member, a friend, a colleague or somebody mentioned in passing that you have wished you could do so much more to ease the pain and fear they are suffering?&nbsp; Well now I am going to do it!!!</p> <p><strong>I was going to take part in the Mt Sinai Desert Trek but due to the unrest in Eqypt changed to the Trans Pyrenean Trek which was then cancelled.&nbsp; I will now be raising money for MedEquip4Kids by taking part in the trek to Machu Picchu, in Peru. (To view previous donations go to <a href="http://www.justgiving.com/Jane-Holloway">www.justgiving.com/Jane-Holloway</a> ).</strong></p> <p>Yes.......5 days&nbsp;trekking for up to 12 hours a day in all weathers along remote mountain trails climbing to over 4200m (14,000 feet) and camping in tents, until we reach the magical Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu.&nbsp; Amazingly we will be there at 11am on 11/11/2011.&nbsp;</p> <p>Even if I have to hobble then I will.&nbsp; Compared to what some children and their families go through, it's nothing.&nbsp; This is the least my relatively charmed life and&nbsp;I can do!</p> <p>My dear friend Fiona and I are raising money in memory of her beautiful daughter Yasmin who lost her brave fight for life and died at the age of 11 years old in 2004.&nbsp; When Yassie was only months old the outlook was bad and it was expected that she wouldn't live beyond the age of two.&nbsp; Didn't she prove everybody wrong?&nbsp; All of her life was spent in and out of hospital but thanks to the equipment Fiona was taught to use at home, Yassie was also able to live a relatively normal life surrounded by the love of her family.</p> <p>MedEquip4Kids funds medical equipment that will improve the care of sick children and babies but cannot be supplied by the NHS due to limited budgets.&nbsp;&nbsp;The money raised is spent <span style="text-decoration: underline;">directly</span> on the items people request and no money is passed on to any third party.</p> <p>I am funding this trip myself so all the money donated goes straight to this wonderful charity.&nbsp; I have to raise as much money as I can before 3rd November 2011.</p> <p>Please, please donate ...... with your help we can make a difference ..... every little bit helps!!!&nbsp;&nbsp; Many, many thanks Jane.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
