Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I have decided to take part in the Great North Run this year as it will be the last time I can do it while in my 20s ( I aim to do it once in my 20s 30s and 40s to follow in my dad's footsteps) Although I go to the gym on a regular basis I am not a runner so this will be a massive challenge which I am willing to accept.

I have chosen to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society as I have seen first hand the distress and heartache Alzheimer's and dementia can cause not only to the person but to their family and loved ones as well. It completely changes lives by the devastation it causes so hopefully by the little bit I manage to raise to go towards reasearch one day we can comletely change lives for the better by helping to control it or even better find a cure for it.

If you have taken the time to read this then please take the time to donate. Lets try and beat this horrible disease
