Story
I have supported Beads of Courage for many years in support of the Mulholland family who have raised thousands of pounds in memory of their daughter Eilish who sadly died from a kidney cancer in 2014 aged 4 and for their younger son Aidan , now 6, who completed a year of cancer treatment for Ewings Sarcoma and given a clear scan in July of this year.
The Beads of courage programme provides glass beads to children undergoing long term treatment for life threatening conditions each bead representing a medical event and I have always been taken by the length of the chain of beads children collect, the beads themselves are so lovely and represent a positive symbol of what they have gone through.
The Beads of Courage programme is sponsored in the UK by Be Child Cancer Aware their website is www.beadsofcourageuk.org
