Story
I just wanted to let you all know that I have volunteered to do a parachute jump on behalf of The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. Angela Smith from the Grand Opera House has engineered this idea for fundraising .Ten Grand Opera House employees have volunteered for the jump and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible, given targets of £350.00 each to achieve.
I will be doing the tandem jump which entails jumping off a plane from 13000ft on Sunday 28th August 2011. This is a very daunting experience for me as I have never done anything like this in my life but see this has a great challenge for myself. I also believe that the sponsorship money is going to a great cause which can help so many young children and families who are dealing with Cancer.
The Northern Ireland Cancer fund for children is a registered charity, which offers practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people up to and including the age of 24, who are living with cancer, and their families. Three children are diagnosed with cancer every week in Northern Ireland, leaving three more families to cope with a level of devastation that is almost impossible for most of us to comprehend.
I know that most people will know someone who has suffered or is suffering cancer and I hope that you can see how the sponsorship money will be beneficial and helpful to this cause. I would be so grateful if you can sponsor me as I believe that this will make a big difference to many children's lives. I know at a time like this, money is short but any little offerings that you can provide will be very much appreciated. .
