Story
2 years ago we created this page in memory of friends and family who have fought and survived cancer and those who are still fighting the battle. This page is for David Bell, Barry, Elizabeth, Rhona, Roseanne, Alex Bell, Terry Mitchell, Gerald McDade, John Milne, Hannah Hendry, George Daly and our own dear wee mammy Lily, who within a few months of James and I completeing our LEJOG cycle, was diagnosed with breast cancer and secondary breast cancer in both lungs.
1st Challenge
On August 20th 2012 we drove down to Lands End, staying overnight in the LE lodge and starting our long trek back up early on the morning of the 21st. It took us 16 days of long hard cycling' the first four being the hardest of them all scaling the Cornwall hills at 20% and 16 % inclines.
Your generous donations inspired us to keep going, particularly me being a relative novice to the cycling world and could have thrown in the towel at anytime during those first few days, and James who remained fairly strong throughout.
Please don't stop donating to this worthy cause as every penny goes directly to MacMillan and we should never stop supporting them.
2nd challenge; on the 12th September 2013 we fly to Prague in the Czech Republic where we collect our biks and cycle to Vienna ave a period of 5 days. we are joing a group of 3 others to complete the cycle however we thought again it would be nice if we could try and raise some money for MacMillan. please feel free to donate as littel or as much as you want or can. we wwill keep you posted on our journey and update photgraphs on our return.
Once again from both of us and from the bottom of our hearts.....thankyou to you all from James & Jane xxx
