Dear family and friends, 
  
With two weeks to go until our big day, we've had numerous phone calls and emails about a wedding gift for Peter and me. Fortunately, there is nothing left in the world that Peter, our children and myself could ever want for, outside of a happy and healthy future.  For those who wish to mark the occasion of our wedding, it would mean more than you could imagine to support St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds, where Jane's magnificent grandparents, Abba and Zena Rivlin, spent their final days. 
  
St Gemma's provides specialist medical and nursing care for people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer, along with support for their families. It costs St Gemma's £7m a year to function and £20,400 to run the whole Hospice for one day.  The majority of this has to be raised through donations, legacies, fundraising initiatives and their chain of charity shops. 
  
Here are some examples of St Gemma's day to day costs: 
·         £375 per day to care for one in-patient 
·         £200 to provide a day hospice session for a patient 
·         £175 for a community nurse to visit a patient in their own home 
·         £65 to provide a complementary therapy session for a patient 
·         £50 to provide a session with a specialist bereavement worker 
·         £25 to provide a blood transfusion to an out-patient
