Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
I’m going to give up crisps, chips, cheese and all things fatty! I will be losing lots of lbs in the hope of making lots of £s for Child of Hope. My challenge will continue until the promised 20lb has been lost (hopefully this side of Christmas!). Updates on my progress will be available here. Please help me to help Child of Hope.
“If we can change the life path of just one child, we have also helped their family, friends and the rest of their community along the way” - Child of Hope, Outreach Uganda
Your sponsorship will go to a great charity: Child of Hope...providing free food, clothes and education for slum kids in Uganda. It has built a school in the huge Namatala slum district (near Mbale) and currently needs funds to add another floor to educate even more kids.
I was first introduced to Child of Hope by attending my local church toddler group, Little Lights, where our coffee and squash money contribute toward the program. It has been fantastic to get updates, photos and messages from the children involved via the Trustee and Co-founder. It makes such a difference when you can REALLY see and hear how the money is used first hand – I assure you it is being put to fantastic use.
The picture I am holding above (also in the gallery) is that of the children who have benefitted from donations to Child of Hope. I am sure you will agree it portrays a powerful image of happiness and optimism. It is such a wonderful sight it is difficult to imagine how life may have been for them without the intervention of CoH and of course the financial support from donators and sponsors. It is especially poignant for me as the children involved are wearing donated jumpers with my son’s school logo (Lytchett Matravers Primary). It is difficult not to be moved by the direct comparison of their lifestyles. Please, please help if you can, any amount big or small WILL make a difference.
Further information is available at www.childofhopeuganda.org . Please do visit the site and see the conditions at the slum and the fantastic things CoH are doing…right now!
Thank you lovely peeps

P.S. This is the great bit! Virtually all the UK staff are volunteers so expenses are limited to bank and online payment charges (still less than 5%). However many of the donations attract the UK governments Gift Aid – so in reality A LOT MORE than 100% of your donation goes directly to benefit the children of the Natamala Slum. Yay!
