Forth Road Bridge walk by acrophobic! · 17 September 2012

Omaleshe Projects is a Scottish registered charity based in Namibia which supports vulnerable children teaching them how to protect themselves and say NO. Namibia has a high incidence of violence against women and children and a high teenage pregnancy rate and we are making a difference

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm going to walk over the Forth Road Bridge on Saturday 20th October to raise funds for Omaleshe (Registered charity no SCO39501). This may not sound much of a challenge, but in case you are not aware - I am terrified of heights. As a result, it's likely I'll not actually be walking over the Bridge - I'll be crawling over it!

Some of you may know that this charity was set up following my sister's year+ spent in Namibia. The charity helps support orphans, vulnerable children, children affected by the HIV pandemic and children with Special Needs in Namibia through dancing and drumming. Dancing is an effective approach to dealing with grief and sorrow and is a way of building up confidence and self esteem. It is also used as an informal and non threatening approach to promote self protection and awareness of abuse.

So please dig deep and donate now.
