NLT Arctic team challenge 2016 · 2 December 2016 to 5 December 2016 ·

The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

Why am I doing this? I am sure I will ask myself that many times whilst face down in the snow freezing the nose off my face! However, when I saw this challenge I just knew this was the one for me to challenge myself to show that I will literally go to the ends of the earth for a child's literacy.. So here I go for the NLT...

The Arctic Challenge is an inspiring wilderness endurance challenge
set within
the Swedish Arctic Circle. The Challenge incorporates a 35km dog sled race, 25km Nordic ski, ice fishing, orienteering, fire lighting and a light-hearted quiz.
Set in the heart of the Arctic, this is a land of vast wilderness areas, of frozen lakes and rivers, the extraordinary Aurora Borealis, herds of reindeer, the occasional moose, frozen tundra, endless pine forest and ice fishing. Ice and snow are the norm for many months of the year and the dog sled and ski are still essential for everyday use during the long winters. Here, just north of Kiruna (6JD51'N 20°13'E) and 150km above the Arctic Circle, is where the Arctic Challenge is held.

So please sponsor me and help me complete this challenge. Please note that all fundraising is just that, not to pay fees, buy kit or anything else. It all goes to the NLT.
