Story
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">So I’ve conquered the Great North run five times and tackled the Edinburgh Moon Walk – in my bra none the less- so now it’s time to raise the bar and tread the streets of the capital to take the challenge of the London Marathon.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">So why am I taking on this 26 mile task I hear you ask, well it’s to carry on raising money for the very worthy cause of Breast Cancer Campaign.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">This charity has become very close to my heart as I have had personal experience with the dreadful disease of Breast Cancer. When I was 23 years old I lost my mother to breast cancer. She was only 52 years old when she died.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">Six year s ago my sister Cath was diagnosed and then a year later my step mum was also diagnosed and given treatment for breast cancer.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">I also lost a dear friend in 2009. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">So as you can imagine, this has caused me some heartache and has provided me with the motivation to find a cure. After completing the first Great North Run in 2006 with my sister, after her treatment, the fundraising bug hit us.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">We have currently raised over £11,000 through the Great North run and along with other fundraising activities. We would like to reach in excess of £12,000 and with your help, we will achieve this.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">Although I have picked up a slight injury, I am battling through it with some physio and with sheer determination. This will have me fighting fit and I will better and stronger.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">I do understand that times are a little tough these days but please donate what little pennies or pounds you can spare so we can combat this killer disease. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">Please wish me luck and think of me on the 17th April running along (hopefully not doing a Paula Radcliffe) whilst you’re tucking into your Sunday Roast.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">... and remember every step I take is one step further to a cure.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
