Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing this in memory of our Mum and Dad, Jean and Tony Baldwin.

Unfortunately when Dad died in 1980 we didn't have the help that is available today, and if you take a moment to read the link opposite, you will see the amazing work that Marie Curie nurses do, and as a charity, fund raising is the only way to ensure they can carry on caring for people at the end of their lives.

I have started a blog, which I would love you to have a gander at and please comment! http://janetschinawalladventure.blogspot.co.uk/ hope that works ;0)

Hello, I am now post, The Great Wall of China challenge, and through blood sweat and tears, aplenty, and wondering what on earth I was doing, I did it!

When I thought how on earth am I going to scale that rock, traverse that ravine, climb those steps or just simply keep going, I would look round at the amazing landscape, and realise that, how lucky am I?  I can!  And why am I doing this? to enable Marie Curie nurses to support people and their families, at the end of their lives. As a group, so far, we have managed to raise over £133 thousand pounds, which equates to 5699 hours of nursing care.

And how humbling, I would like to thank my family and friends who have supported me this far, with donations and joining me on quizzes race nights and raffles. And my late mother in law, Gonda, who's christmas box enabled me to purchase my walking boots and take my first step towards raising the much needed funds. Bless you. And I hope you will still help me in rising to my challenge of raising £3000.

Thank you
