I am raising money for Blue Skye Thinking, in memory of my precious nephew, Skye.  The charity was started by my brother and sister-in-law after their son, Skye, was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma at the tender age of 4.  After a truly heroic battle to live, Skye died as a result of the side effects of the chemotherapy and radiotherapy he received.  

Skye was an incredible little boy with an amazing sense of humour and maturity way beyond his years.  He is greatly missed by his mum and dad, brother Jesse, his wider family and all those who knew him.  Skye's last message to his fans was to make the most of what you have.  Every day, I am thankful for many things and Skye reminds me of that.  

There is very little money given to research into the safe and effective treatment of childhood brain tumours, so Blue Skye Thinking is aiming to raise enough money to fund more research into new safe and effective treatments.  Incredibly, the charity has already raised enough money to fund one researcher.  You can read all about it at

As I have fibromyalgia, I cannot do a physical challenge, so cutting my hair and dying it blue for Skye is my way of paying tribute to an incredible little boy who touched the lives of people all over the world.  I will also be sending my cut off hair to the Little Princesses Trust, who make wigs for children undergoing treatment for cancer.   Please would you sponsor me to raise more money for Blue Skye Thinking, so that children in the future may be able to survive the horror of brain tumours.  I have always had long hair, so having it really short will be a big thing for me.  I am hoping that my blue hair will be the start of many conversations and raising more awareness for Blue Skye Thinking.
