Fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Story
I am running the Hastings Half Marathon on 18th March to help raise funds for SteveBurneRooms at Ronald McDonald House, Manchester.
Steve Burne is my cousin, he is amazing! Last year he was diagnosed with an aggressive, rare and sadly terminal form of cancer and is currently having chemo and fighting this crappy disease.
He has been involved with Ronald McDonald House charities for over 15 Years and is Chair of the Board of Governors at the Manchester House. His proposal at the last gala dinner was to refurbish three units for families with sick children to stay, giving them precious time together. The house want to name the rooms the Steve Burne rooms as a legacy to my cousin. It will cost £250,000 to complete these rooms and Steve’s (and his family and friends) wish is that he gets to see this happen before he dies.
This will be my first official half marathon (as Brighton was measured short last year) and will be very challenging but compared to what Steve is going through, it is nothing!
