Ellie is about to start mainstream nursery in August and is walking and talking (my can she talk!)... things that at one time we never thought she’d be able to do! She loves nothing more than playing with her dolls, her books, dancing and having a good carry-on!
She has a wicked sense of humour and is fairly forthright in nature ;-) Put it this way, she is not easily deterred from whatever she has on her mind. On some occasions this has brought challenges, but in other respects we hope that it will be this determination that will see her through whatever lies ahead of her.
I had already decided that it was about time I did something else to try to raise some more funds for Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (www.pwsa.co.uk) when I stumbled across the to Coast Challenge. After (an inadequate amount of) deliberation, I decided to register for it http://www.scotlandcoasttocoast.com/challenger.html. Having only completed a couple of 10k runs and couple of 5k adventure runs this is definitely going to be a big challenge for me! Dylan and I have entered as a team... we might not finish that way! ;-)
The event takes place on 18th and 19th September 2010. We will make our way from Nairn Beach to Glencoe. A journey that covers just over 100 miles, including a marathon-worth on foot; a journey that takes in some of the most amazing views in the Scottish Highlands: Loch Ness, the Great Glen, Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.
Please don't feel under any obligation to sponsor me...if I'm honest I've published this page mainly to make sure I can't back out of it! That being said, any donations will be very much appreciated!
Please do take the time to read a little about this genetic condition and about the worthwhile research and support the association provide to many families just like mine.
