Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Janine Alveston, I am engaged to Mark with a wedding booked for Christmas Eve this year. I have a son called Dan who is 13 and beautiful Border Collie called Bella who is only 4 months old at present. I work for a specialist College called St Elizabeths who are based in Much Hadham.

Do you ever get that feeling that you need a challenge? You want to make a difference to other people's lives? You need a change from your every day routine? Well this was me this time last year. My friend Ann and I really wanted to feel good about ourselves, to push ourselves and to achieve a real goal. This is why I want to do this challenge.

I hear you ask, why choose The Owl Project for my Charity, who are they? This Charity is part of the Papworth Trust. They help people with learning difficulties to learn a trade, to learn independent skills and to help them socialise in the Community. The Students at the College I work at regularly work at The Owl Cafe and The Owl Bikes where they get a sense of achievement. It is so lovely to see our Students so focused and engaged in a job that they enjoy. The Owl Project is local to where I live in Sawston too which is Cambridgeshire and they offer lots of opportunities to local disabled people which I feel is an absolute god send to people less fortunate than myself.

I hope this helps you understand why I am asking for your donations, please help The Owl Project grow so that they can help more and more people learn within the Community.
