Currently, it costs £1200 pounds a year to care for a child from a deprived background at Dr Graham’s Homes in Kalimpong, West Bengal, India.  This includes education, housing and welfare.  It is my aim to raise at least £2000 by cycling with a small group from Kolkata to Kalimpong, near the Tibetan border.  This will be a journey of 420 miles in 7 days, concluding with a climb of at least 3000 feet in 10 miles into the foothills of the Himalayas.  5 nights will be spent under canvas.   We'll be leaving Kolkata on our bikes on Sunday 13 February.

I am paying all my own travel, accommodation and other costs, so everything donated will go direct to the school.  Please help me achieve my sponsorship target.  My grandmother attended Dr Graham’s Homes school in the 1930s and benefited greatly.  She had happy memories of growing up in the school and had many stories to tell.  At Dr Graham’s, alongside her regular education, she was trained as a children’s nurse and when she left, she got a job with an American family, as a nanny.
