Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This July, my Mum and I are volunteering in a rural village in Nepal. We will be teaching English at small village school, called Shree Swait Ganesh Primary School in Chaukot (40km East of Kathmandu) as shown in the pictures.

It is a government run school, and as such is very poor. It has children aged from 6 to about 14 years old and there are only 7 teachers at the school with class sizes of 20-30 pupils.  We will teach English lessons to classes 2-5 and are also looking forward to playing sports as well as planning activities for the children. There are very few resources in the school, so we really want to make education more interesting and accessible to all the children through raising this money.

To minimise our own costs we will be living with a local family, this will also enable us to experience rural life first hand.

We are asked to raise £500 towards our programme, but we also want to raise a minimum of £1000 for the charity, The FutureSense Foundation, that supports the school we will be working with, support projects all round the world, providing education and assistance for families who need it the most. You can see more of what they do at www.futuresense.co.uk. All together we are trying to raise a minimum of £1500.

I would appreciate any donation big or small as it will help us with resources for the school.

Thanks and Regards

Gunisha Vig
