We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

I’m a late entry to this with no training and no kit (yet)

Two weeks to get sorted for what sounds like a great experience for a great Charity.

On the 11th July 2019, Fifty people mainly from Norfolk will be attempting to climb Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scarfell Pike in 24 hours including the drive between the mountains! The total walking distance is 23 miles and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles. All this has to be completed within 24 hours!

This challenge is being done in the memory of a young lady called Maisie who had a massive impact on everyone who knew her. Maisie was a very vibrant and courageous young girl who was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive bone cancer called Erwing's Sarcoma. In 2014 at 15 years of age she underwent intensive rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transplant at Ward C9 at Addenbrooks Hospital, Cambridge. This was all facilitated by Teenage Cancer Trust, who fund 28 specialist units across the UK and 48 specialist nurses and youth support co-ordinators. Maisie inspired everyone who met her with her courage and kindness, but very sadly passed away a few days after her 17th birthday.

Appreciate anything you can give.

Thanks , Jason
