Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Sahara desert – It is the largest and the hottest desert on earth, where daytime temperatures can rise to 136 F (57.7 C). It is spread over more than 9,000,000 square Km (3,630,000 square miles). As the world’s largest desert, the Sahara receives less than three inches of rain a year, even in its wettest areas; rain may arrive twice in one week, then not return for years. Having access to a clean and safe water source is something many of us around the world now take for granted, but for some, water is a scarce commodity. We will be trekking 100km over 5 days through the hot and dry desert to raise money to fund the Health Actions Promotion Associations (HAPA) access to water grants programme in Tanzania. Your kind and generous donations will help us to help them by: ·         Increasing access to clean and safe water and promotion of Hygiene and Sanitation practices. ·         Increase community access to quality education and improvement of learning environment. ·         Promoting community awareness and practices on reproductive and child health and increasing access to health facilities. ·         Promoting income generating activities to marginalized groups i.e. youth, women and people with disabilities. Our challenge begins in Achbarou the “door of the desert” via the Tizi n’Tinifift pass, we will continue along the Draa Valley until reaching Tansikht.  Our trek will take us beyond the Jebel Saghro region, a forbidding landscape punctuated by stark peaks, formidable gorges and bright oases, crossing the Maider El Kbir plateau. Together, we have the power and oportunity to help make a change, to help make a real difference to real people.
