Story
In April 2018 I shall be running the London Marathon in memory of Alice Phinbow...a little girl too precious for this world.
Earlier this year my brother-in-law and sister-in-law went through something that no parent should ever have to go through. At their 20 week scan they detected a heart defect with the baby. After further tests it became apparent that this was a severe life-threatening heart condition and they had to make the cruel and agonising decision to terminate the pregnancy.
Alice Phinbow was born sleeping on July 1st 2017. She was utterly perfect in every way on the outside.....but with a very poorly heart on the inside. During this horrendous time, in the hospital Alice’s parents were given a beautiful memory box filled with precious items such as 2 teddies - 1 for Alice and 1 for the parents to keep, a little book of poems and a hand and footprint mould. This memory box was provided by the wonderful charity Towards Tomorrow Together and because I know it was such a comfort to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law during the worst times in their lives, it is for that reason I want to raise money for them so they can continue to be a comfort to other parents going through the same thing. So please, if you can, give generously.
I will be running each of the 26 miles with Alice on my shoulder, helping me along with her angel wings.
