Individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome should have the opportunity to pursue their hopes and dreams to the full extent of their talents and capabilities. The success of people with Prader-Willi syndrome depends greatly upon the knowledge and support of the community around them. The Prader-Willi California Foundation provides individuals with PWS, their families and professionals with a state network of information, advocacy and support services.

Story

On March 1st 2020, I will be trekking 100km over five days at high altitude inclusive of Mt. Cotopaxi, 5,897m (19,347ft) through the Andean Volcano region in Ecuador.

As part of the group of 100 HSBC colleagues, I will be raising money and awareness for mental health.  I have chosen the charity Prader-Willi California and all donations will support the foundation.

My beloved amazing nephew Pablo (13 years old) was diagnosed with Prader-Willi shortly after birth.

Prader–Willi syndrome (PWS) is a neurogenetic syndrome with an associated behavioural phenotype and a high incidence of behaviours of concern and psychiatric co‐morbidity. These associated behaviours and co‐morbidities are not well addressed by existing interventions, and they impact significantly on affected individuals and their caregivers.
