After my lovely wife was diagnosed with the dreaded Big C, I felt that I needed to do something to help support Cancer Research in the uk. The treatment and care given by the hospital staff was amazing. We have now reached the 5 year all clear and I have now fulfilled my pledge.

Since signing up to do this challenge to raise money and awareness, I have had a good friend diagnosed with testicular cancer and is now thankfully on the road to recovery, also my daughter's nan sadly lost her battle on Christmas day. She was a very special, lovely lady and will be greatly missed by everyone.

I have now completed my challenge and managed to get to the top of Kilimanjaro. I travelled through four eco systems on my way to the summit, which is 5,895 meters. Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the largest volcanoes ever to break through the Earth's crust. I treked for 7 days and stayed in a small tent with a stranger. (anyone who knows me will confirm 'I do not do camping at the best of times!!)

I know that cancer touches everyone's lives at some point and know that every penny raised will help to combat this awful disease.I hope you will help me help others, as every penny counts.
