Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you already know, I'm planning to run the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March. I'm slightly behind with my training due to a shin injury over the last couple of months so the incentive of raising money for a charity will get me through it! Therefore, I'm planning to run to raise funds for The Whitechapel Centre.

The Whitechapel Centre is the leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region. They work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation and are committed to helping people find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living.

They run an enablement Centre, open every day, providing breakfast and shower facilities for rough sleepers. They work with some of Liverpool’s most vulnerable and socially excluded people and believe that everyone should be treated with respect and have the opportunity to achieve their potential.

Sadly, they are seeing an increasing number of people coming through the doors asking for accommodation, support, welfare & debt advice and help in dealing with their problems. Obviously, they are a charity and rely on donations to be able to meet this increased need. Quite simply, the more funds they have, the more lives they can change.

Living in town it's something I'm seeing increase first-hand at an alarming rate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for your donations and wish me luck!
