Having lost my father-in-law and most recently my best friend, far too young to this cruel disease, I wanted to raise some money for this worthy charity. I am doing this both by seeking donations and by raising money through my hobby of metal detecting.

How am I doing this? Well firstly by making a personal contribution of £25 every time I am successful in obtaining a new 'permission' from a landowner. Secondly, I will occasionally sell a 'find' and donate a proportion of the proceeds to the cause. Finally, I am collecting all the 'junk' finds like nails, screws, bottlecaps etc., and when I have sufficient will take them for scrap/recycling, donating all the money received to the cause.
