St Bartholomew's Hospital has a long and proud history of caring, and now we are continuing to build on that past to ensure new standards of excellence for the future. At Barts we are developing a world-class specialist cancer centre, which will serve more than 1.5 million people in North East London and beyond. To achieve this however, we need to support new research, have access to new technology and shape an environment that is more suited to the needs of patients during difficult times. Your support can be dedicated to a specific ward or department, patient and staff amenities or research.

Story

On Saturday Septemper 10th Jonathan, Hannah and I will be running the Jungfrau marathon in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. This is a part of the world which holds a lot of importance to our family and we cherish a great deal of memories of growing up with Jason here.

The marathon is the Full 26.6 miles (42.2Km) with a vertical climb of 1640meters from the bottom of the valley to the top of the Ski-resort. The run is through an area of extreme beauty which, with the memory of Jason, will spur us to the top of the course!

Jason passed away on Wednesday 12th May 2010, at home after an 18 month battle with cancer, during which he showed tremendous courage and determination. The resolute and brave manner he displayed throughout his struggle serves as an example to those he leaves behind to never lose hope in the face of adversity.

Jason was a unique individual, special to all who knew him, always generous, warm, loving and kind. His cheeky grin and outrageous sense of humour will be missed by us all, and we will cherish our memories with him forever.

Jason's battle with cancer was treated at Barts and the London and we hope with your support that others may be helped further. With your kind donations we hope through research they can get a better understanding of these diseases and more support can be given to those in need.

Thank you for your kind thoughts  and contribution to this cause on behalf of Jason.
