At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At present around 800,000 people in the UK live with dementia and this number is expected to increase to some 1,000,000 by 2021.  One in three people over the age of 65 will develop dementia - robbing them of their memories and lives.  Many more will find themselves caring for a family member with little or no training or support.  As a result, sadly we are all likely to have someone close to us that is living with dementia.

The 'challenge' is organised by Lloyd Banking Group in support of our Charity of the Year - Alzheimer's Society.  The concept is that teams of 6 all over the UK will cycle together for 24 hours to cover the equivalent distance around the globe!

I appreciate that we all receive many requests for support, but I would really appreciate you supporting me in my challenge to make a small difference in my own way.
