We have enjoyed working with 'Haven of Hope' to produce our wedding invitations. Sarah visited Chennai in 2007 and seen first hand the great works CMCT are involved in.
Christian Missions Charitable Trust (CMCT) was formed in 1979 in Chennai, South India by Dr. Colleen M. Redit with the objective of providing social and spiritual help to the many poor & needy of the city. One of the many projects of CMCT is the ‘Haven of Hope Handicraft Centre’ which has grown over the past thirty years from just one girl working in a rented garage to a purpose built facility that provides training and employment for over 90 women. The Handicraft Centre provides secure employment for women from very disadvantaged backgrounds who are living in extreme poverty and would otherwise struggle to provide for themselves and their families. Free healthcare is provided for all employees in the onsite Healthcare Centre and the women’s families are placed in CMCT’s sponsor scheme to provide them with free education.
