Greyhounds are lazy, gentle, couch potatoes who happily spend 23 hours a day asleep and need only 2 short walks a day and lots of TLC to keep them happy. They are generally clean dogs who shed very little hair. Many of them can live happily with children and other dogs.

The Sittingbourne Retired Greyhound Trust was set up to re-home some of the greyhounds retired from racing at the Sittingbourne stadium. Approximately 9,000 greyhounds, typically aged between 4 and 6 years, retire nationwide per year and many of them find their way to the RGT re-homing centres where they are looking for a loving ‘’forever’’ home for the 2nd half of their lives.
