Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In Harry Potter, a Boggart is a creature that, when faced, turns into the thing that terrifies you the most.  I am Vice-President of Phoenix Rising, a chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance, and we are running a Face your Boggart challenge.

If I raise at least £200 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, I will face my deep-seated fear of spiders by holding a tarantula *shudder*, and the more I raise, the longer I will hold the spider for.

I'd be grateful, if terrified, if you could spare a few pounds for this amazing charity, which does incredible work caring for those with cancer and other terminal illnesses.

If you would like to take part in the challenge and face your own fear please visit the relevant page on our blog to find out how to 'Face Your Boggart'. We are asking for a small donation to our chapter funds so that we can continue to address issues of social justice in our area but beyond that any funds you raise will be directed at the charity of your choice.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
