Fundraising for Tatiana Giraud Foundation

I am an active fundraiser, campaigner and team member of the Tatiana Giraud Foundation, a registered charity with a mission to actively contribute to the restoration of women, girls, communities and families that have been victims of sexual violence in the North-Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
For my birthday I would like to raise funds to help towards the medical care of at least one victim of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This issue is dear to my heart and I would like nothing better than to be able to help another victim get the vital medical care needed to live a normal life. Some of these women, girls and toddlers experience a rape so severe that they develop a condition known as traumatic fistula - basically their vaginas are left torn and renders incontinence. Sometimes it can take multiple fistula operations before they are able to physically recover. There is evidence that woman as old as 90 to children as young as 1 are being raped.
As I write this, I have everything I need and have access to much, I am very thankful. So, instead of giving me a birthday card, a nice gift, treating me to a drink/dinner, or a luxury trip aboard :) please make a contribution to help me help one victim of sexual violence.
Typically it costs a woman £500.00 for a complete operation. This includes the fistula operation and 30 days hospitalisation.
The challenge right now, is that I want to raise the £500 in a week, that's right I want to raise £500 by 18th December 2010 my birthday!!! I believe anything is possible. So what I'm thinking is, if you could find it in your heart to contribute just £2 (or more) this is highly possible and my dream birthday present will come true.
