Story
Thank you for visiting my Just giving page, I would like to share my story with you.
I signed up for the Clipper Round the World 19/20 Yacht Race, in January 2017, dubbed as ‘The World’s greatest ocean adventure’. I chose to do Leg One of the race, the longest of the 8 legs, navigating the Doldrums en route to South America, leaving St Katharine’s Dock, London on the 1st September.
I have been asked this question many times over the last two years by friends and family who think I'm either going through a mid-life crisis or I have a death wish as my 17 year old so kindly put it. Since I was young I have always been competitive looking for the next challenge, I have based my career around this thought process always wanting to set new goals and achieve something bigger and better than the last one. I see this as probably the biggest and greatest challenge that I will ever do and although it excites me I sometimes wonder what have I let myself in for.
I am determined to give everything I have to achieve this next chapter of my life raising awareness of children in danger around the world and I am looking forward to this endurance test of physical and mental ability as I work towards the start of a gruelling 6,400 nautical miles, the equivalent distance of ten Fastnet Races, through the Atlantic Ocean towards Punta del Este, Uruguay.
Please join me so that 'Together we can help every child in Danger' and give them the chance to grow up healthy, happy and safe.
