Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In memory of my wonderful dad and to follow in his footsteps as a great fundraiser, I am raising funds for Compton Hospice through my Sahara Challenge. I appreciate any donation you can make large or small. Dad was so well cared for at Compton Hospice in May last year and this is one way we can say thank you to the team, with the donations helping them to continue their excellent work and the care they give to patients suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

All the funds raised on my JustGiving site will be donated directly to Compton Hospice. We are now back from the Trek and will continue to raise funds until January 2011. We had a wonderful time in the desert and in the community. The trek was over three days and involved a mix of terrain including lots of sand dunes. If you are interested to find out more, just let me know and will gladly share with you photos and stories from the trip.

Thanks to all of you who have donated, encouraged and supported the trip. The Flower night back in May got me off to a great start when we raised an amazing £1300 on the evening, which was split between Compton Hospice and Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Also a big thank you to Brenda and Brian for their generous donation. Thanks also to Margaret for the Cheese and Wine evening. This all set me me well on my way!

With a small group of fellow Compton Hospice fundraisers I left London on 9 October 2010 to start the Challenge. The desert trek covering 15-20km per day was followed by a 2 day community project where we worked to lay out a football pitch area and built benches for the locals to use to watch the football games.

The generosity of family and friends means we'll be donating a wonderful sum of money to Compton Hospice to support their work.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks, all donations are very much appreciated.
