Community Hospice provides free end of life care to anyone living with a terminal illness in Greenwich and Bexley, supporting around 3,000 people each year. Our goal is to help everyone we care for to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle.

Story

Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather or just a Friend - A Man that will be missed by all that had the fortune to know him

Sadly my Grandad, John Fredrick Barnes passed away on the 18th April 2013 aged 85.

The funeral is taking place on the 21st May 2013 at St John's Church in Blackheath

The family have asked that rather than send flowers which are so short lived that a more lasting and worthwhile tribute would be a donation to be made the local hospice of Greenwich & Bexley.

Many of you may not have been aware that he was diagnosed with a degenerative lung condition about 8 years ago but that didn’t deter him from living as full as life as possible and continuing to be the active man we all knew him to be.

Although in the end John never needed the help and assistance provide for by a Hospice so many of the people that we all know and love may at some point.

Thank you - Jayne  Xx
