2010 Humber Bridge Half Marathon · 27 June 2010 ·

We are the UK’s only dedicated hepatitis C charity. Our mission is to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by 2030. Through our work, we aim to reach everybody living with or at risk of hepatitis C in the UK with effective education, testing and support through treatment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided to raise money for The Hepatitis C Trust as my Auntie has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, which we think she contracted many years ago when she was a midwife.  Approximately 500,000 people in the UK are thought to have Hepatitis C and as few as 1 in 10 people actually know they have it.  Awareness of Hepatitis C is low and those that are not diagnosed are at risk of developing a fatal liver disease like my Auntie, or unknowingly can infect others.  It is estimated that world wide there are approximately 3 to 4 million new infections every year.

I have now run the Humber Bridge Half Marathon in June (in 2 hours and 10 minutes) and the Mablethorpe Half Marathon on 3rd October (in 1 hour 54 minutes), however, you can still donate.  If you haven't donated before, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure, and if you wish to donate by another means, please let me know.

Thanks again

Jayne
