Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Running in memory of Tommy Burton, one of the most notorious, (or uproarious!) entertainers to come out of the Midlands, suffered a stroke in 1999.  It took away over 50years of tunes, songs and jokes.  However, after finding an organ in the hospital, he found strength to return to the keys and begin his road to recovery.  Returning home, he made good progress and began to make pubic appearances on stage once more.  Following a very happy two weeks down at Bude Jazz Festival where he had been invited to perform, he came home and, after a pint (or two) in his local, died at home from an aneurism.  (not sure if this is appropriate but I've just read this back and made myself laugh!  When I say 'organ in the hospital', I mean the musical kind... not the bodily kind!  Worra loff!  He wouldn't have minded... honest).

And so, I give you, one more time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX1kgQSNSUE
